With the overwhelming success of the Rogue
Engineering E46 M3 Sport Wagon, we were commissioned to do it again. This
time, it was to a pristine 2003 E46 330i Performance Package (Factory code: ZHP)
with only 7400 miles on it.
Whereas we liked the idea of BMW offering a
"performance package", adding a body kit, 18" wheels, chrome tips
and 10hp is hardly our idea of a significant performance increase. So, we
installed a 1,800 mile E46 M3 S54 engine, complete with transmission and entire
rear end into the car! Needless to say, it's much easier the second time
around!
With the Bilstein PSS9s coilovers, the car's
stance is both aggressive yet comfortable. The 355mm front and 328mm
Brembo GT 4-piston brake kit (that's a total of 16 pistons on the car!) can slow
the car with confidence. The RE LTW flywheel means lighting fast throttle
reponse. This stock looking BMW pulls hard and pushes you in the back of
the seat even in 4th gear! Now this is what we call a 330i
with a real performance package, Rogue Engineering style!
