Rogue Engineering
Stainless Steel Clutch Line

Rogue Engineering is proud to offer our
braided stainless steel line that replaces the rubber hydraulic hose that
connects from the clutch slave cylinder to the clutch master. Over
time, the rubber hose can swell and deform under the pressure affecting
pedal feel. Our stainless line ensures consistent pedal feel and
performance.
What makes our clutch line unique?
A few features separate ours from the standard OEM rubber line:
- All lines produced in the USA, in our
Upper Saddle River, NJ facility.
- TeflonŽ core, surrounded by a braided
stainless steel line, covered with an abrasion-resistant plastic
jacket
- All lines 100% pressure tested to
3000psi.
- Rogue Engineering lines have
tractability, a DOT requirement. We are a registered
manufacturer with the DOT.

Tech
Tip!
While upgrading to this stainless
steel line, removing the factory "lock valve" (aka clutch
delay valve, CDV) will improve overall clutch engagement and pedal
feel. This restrictor valve, found inline of the stock clutch
line, slows the fluid movement causing a delayed reaction of the
clutch assembly. |
Stainless Steel Clutch Line
Inequality
When we set out to create our stainless
steel clutch lines, we wanted to duplicate the factory dimensions as
closely as possible. By doing this, we can produce a product that
not only fits like factory, but also has the performance advantages of a
stainless steel line. The pictures below show our attention to
details.

In the picture above, we
compare our
SS-CLU-04 line with a factory BMW OEM line. We've replicated the
complex bend of the hard line while also having the benefits of the
stainless steel line. Our two piece assembly allows us to construct
and pressure test the hose, while the hard
line section replicates the factory specifications.

One of our competitors have a very
different view on the same topic. Instead of replicating the factory
hard line bend, they attach a small, bent fitting and adapter. As you would imagine, fit is nowhere near
like the factory line.

Coincidentally, our SS-CLU-05 line uses a
completely different hard line to replicate the factory OEM high pressure
hose. This particular competitor decides that their one and only hose with a
bent fitting is good enough.
Make sure the line you're
getting replicates the factory line before you take your car
apart. How frustrating would it be to
disassemble the clutch hydraulic system only find out the replacement line
was a terrible fit?

The Rogue Engineering Stainless Steel
Clutch line uses a fitting crimp system very similar to the factory
crimp. This ensures a strong, leak-free joint at the fitting to the
hose for long lasting performance.
Our line is available in a
few different configurations, with more being added.
