BMW strut towers use very thin steel and can crack when driven under specific conditions (lowered cars, potholes, etc.). A sport suspension (shorter, stiffer springs) or coilovers will transfer road hazards energy directly to the strut tower deforming and causing costly damage.
Rogue Engineering now produces its own E46 plates, in stainless steel. These laser-cut plates are made from the same thickness as the OEM versions, but without the curved edge. This allows for use of camber plates without modification. Of course, because it is produced from stainless steel, you don't have to worry about long term use.
Your factory strut towers will deform over time (moreso with lowered cars) hitting potholes and metal fatigue. By using this reinforcement (UNDER the tower), you essentially DOUBLE the thickness. Increase the protection even MORE with the addition of our
RACEBRACE.
These factory plates are sandwiched between the strut mount and body and do not require welding for installation. Sold by the PAIR.
