As the exhaust system on cars get older, so does the hardware. It actually gets very difficult, if not impossible to remove intact, especially for an E46 M3 Section 1 to Section 2 pipe.
Original hardware from a 2002 BMW E46 M3. These will not come in one piece. We wind up cutting them off with a die grinder.
When installing replacement hardware, we find that using zinc-plated, Grade 8.8 hardware to be more than adequate replacements for the disintegrating factory stuff. In fact, we go one step further by using flanged bolts combined with flanged, serrated locknuts. These are conveniently BOTH M13 sized (OEM uses a M12 headed nut) and is also easy to remove if required.
Sold as a set of six (6) bolts and six (6) nuts. The triangle shape gasket is generally still in good shape to use. If you insist on replacing it, we only recommend the factory version P/N 18-30-7-830-674.
