The OEM thermostat in the E9X M3 thermostat OEM is designed to open at 79° C, part number 11537836155. So if water temperatures are below this, the stat will close. If your car is running hot (like at the track), with this help you!
This special version is designed to open at 55°C (130°F) and once open in normal conditions, stays open (except during cold temperatures).
Rogue Engineering has worked with a OE manufacture to produce a version of the thermostat with near identical specifications. Production of these are followed up with individual batch testing to ensure functionality at the desired lower temperatures.
