These are not your average, lightweight, aerospace grade, wheel lug nuts. We designed these to have a floating washer. What does a floating washer do? When a traditional, brand new, lug nut is torqued to specification, it can be done without much issue. When worn lug nuts and the aluminum rim nut seat, worn to raw aluminum, galling can then begin. Suddenly, the increased friction of the two conical surfaces can not only affect the actual torque measurement but also affect the load on the stud.
The floating washer allows for the nut to maintain torque measurement against itself, without the worry of increased friction or galling.
M12 x 1.5 conical lug nuts fit E-Series BMWs. They feature a conical seat and 17mm hex head.
M14 x 1.25 conical lug nuts fit F & G-Series BMws. They feature a conical seat and 19mm hex head.
