2012 Porsche Cayenne

2012 Porsche Cayenne "Zombie Apocalypse" Vehicle

Rogue Engineering has been known for some innovative conversions with BMWs so it's not a surprise when our neighbors, Jack Daniels Porsche asked us to spearhead this unique project.

Start with a brand new, 2012 Porsche Cayenne with 18 miles on it. Included with the vehicle was even the new car smell. That didn't last long! Nicknamed the Zombie Apocalypse vehicle, we were given a unique list of modification parameters to apply to this vehicle. Due to the uniqueness of the vehicle, exclusivity is guaranteed! Here are a few of the unique features...

The front of this vehicle is equipped with a Warn winch, shackles, factory parking sensors, LED strobes, FLIR thermal camera, night vision cameras on a custom fabricated, DOM TIG-welded bumper. The relatively stock exterior was complimented with gloss black Line-X coating along the factory bodyline for a more rugged look. New 18" wheels were powder coated black with slightly more aggressive tires. The factory air suspension was left alone.

The original space spare tire was removed to make room for the custom made, ATL 18 gallon fuel cell with built in transfer pump and level sender. This feeds the factory gas tank (24 gallons) to extend the range of the vehicle.

Another unique feature is the custom made, 1.75" DOM rear roll cage. It protects the vehicle's B, C and rear hatch pillars in the event of something big falling on the roof.

The entire rear of the vehicle has been replaced by diamond plate. In place of the back seats are a storage compartment for emergency tools such as the handle for the full size aluminum jack, wheel bolt tools, and remote control for the winch. A first aid kit and aluminum jack are mounted to the front of the diamond plate. The factory Porsche fire extinguisher is mounted to the roll bar as well as a rechargeable LED flashlight.

The rear of the vehicle shows the roll out, stainless steel tool box. Ahead of the toolbox is the full size spare, secured to the floor and roll bar. The center plate is a spring loaded door the fuel cell filler. D-rings in the diamond plate allow the customer to secure other objects to the floor. A mount for a shovel is located on the left.

The factory seats have been replaced by custom Cobra Misanos, mounted to custom seat rails. Custom Safecraft harnesses are mounted for the driver and passenger.

Although every aspect of this project was custom, Rogue Engineering was proud to show its capability and range. Most all of the modifications were over-engineered on purpose as we do not know the exact nature and use of the vehicle. Whereas we normally modify vehicles to go faster, handle better and stop faster, we enjoy challenges such as these.

Will we be building your vehicle next?
