Yes, these are actual, carbon fiber spacers. Made from 100% carbon fiber sheet, produced in an autoclave and then the sheet is CNC'd to exacting measurements. There is NO filler material in it, so there is no "weaker" material inside to compress.
Some questions you are probably asking now...
- Yes, they are very lightweight. Each 3mm spacer weighs just 25 grams. Each 5mm spacer weighs 40 grams. As a comparison, a typical aluminum 5mm spacer weighs 140 grams each.
- They are made to be hubcenteric.
- We do not make thicker sizes (at the moment) because of the requirement of an extended hub for larger sizes. This would make them even more expensive. Enjoy these sizes for the moment.
- Regardless of the bolt pattern (5x112, 5x120, 5x114.5), we designed them to have a lug bolt "slot". The center bore is what holds the spacer concentrically. It is available in a few different sizes...even custom sizes are available.
They are sold as a pair. No hardware is included.
Installation Notes:
It is recommended to use a lubricate of some sort against the face and back of the spacer, to prevent it from galling to surfaces. Grease is our preference.
